Keyword research is the most important part of starting your SEO Marketing.The best way to do this, is to imagine what the user will input in their favourite search engine, and then create a list of keywords that are relevant to your product.

Remember that if you are targeting the wrong keywords, your customers will not be able to find you, and neither will the search engines! This becomes a waste of time, effort and money.

It is also worth to mention that the length of your keywords can play a big role in search engine optimisation. Most users paraphrase their search terms, and Google picks the most relevant websites that pertain to this term. You have to put yourself in to the mind of the user in SEO, and use several different keyword research tools, to best pick your terms.

Below are the key areas you should be reviewing when choosing your keywords:

1. Make a list of the keywords that are relevant to your company.

2. shorten this list of keywords to around 30 words and then choose the top 10, sorting by relevancy

3. How many people are searching for this term? Use one of Google's keyword research tool and find the most popular terms for your specific business.

4. What is the competition? On the Google keyword research tool, you can find out the competition, and better gauge how to target this, with the amount of backlinking, etc that would be needed to reach your goal.
