Necmi Kadioglu, mayor of Istanbul's Esenyurt district, said that the workers were killed when a fire engulfed a giant tent in which the workers were staying at the construction site of a shopping mall late Sunday night. A local TV stations said that the fire might have been sparked by a short circuit. |
