MOSCOW - The engines of the ATR-72 plane that crashed Monday in Russia's Siberia had worked until the final moment of the flight, the Interstate Aviation Committee (MAK) said Tuesday.

"After the take-off, the plane climbed to approximately 210 meters. After that, a right lurch of 35 degrees occurred, followed by a left lurch of 50 degree at the moment of touchdown," MAK said in a statement.

The committee said it made these conclusions based on the plane's flight recorders, and added that the cause of the crash would not be determined until MAK finished all probes into the documents of the recorders, which would probably take at least one month.

Besides, investigators are trying to find out why the plane was not sprayed with anti-icing covering before the flight.

The French-Italian-made passenger plane, carrying 39 passengers and four crew members, went down at around 5:50 a.m. Moscow time (0150 GMT) Monday shortly after it took off from the Siberian city of Tyumen.

The crash has claimed 31 lives, with the rest still in critical condition.
